Dr.Gokul, one of the best gastroenterologists in Coimbatore, has a high sustainable experience of 15 years as an advanced laparoscopic gastro surgeon. He is a dynamic professional with irrevocable beliefs in honesty, compassion and optimistic ideals. Being the Head of the Department of Surgical Gastroenterology, VGM Gastro Centre, Coimbatore, he has successfully performed major GI oncologic surgeries, and advanced laparoscopic procedures. As an ethical and vigilant personality he is always open to new technology and research. His interest in wide travel and training has gained him abundance of updated knowledge in his field of speciality. Additionally, as a passionate medical and social enthusiast he promotes mental and physical well being in every walk of life. Laparoscopy Training
Dr.Gokul is the Course Director, Post-Graduate Fellowship in Minimal access abdominal surgery, recognised by TNMGR Medical University. VGM hospital is one of the first hospitals in Tamil Nadu to train post- graduates in the field of Surgical Gastroenterology. Inspired by his mentors, who have deeply sown the seeds of teaching and training, Dr.Gokul has trained many surgeons through fellowship courses, who are placed all over India. He trains 2 surgeons per year in minimal access abdominal surgery.

Dr.Gokul has worked under medical legends in the field of gastroenterology, in Coimbatore. He takes immense pride in honouring his mentors. One of the pioneers in laparoscopy, Dr.C.Palanivelu,Chairman– GEM Hospital and Research Centre, was accorded the title of “Beeshmacharya” by the Association of Minimal access surgeons of India. A great teacher and a guiding force to most of the laparoscopic surgeons all over the world, Dr.C.Palanivelu has trained Dr.Gokul for four years in every aspect of laparoscopic surgery.
Prof.Dr.K.S.Shanmugasundaram of Sengaliappan hospital is considered to be one of the most experienced surgeons in Tamil Nadu. He has trained most of the successful surgeons in the western belt of Tamilnadu. He is well known for his expertise in general surgical knowledge.
